Great Pub for locals and visitors alike. Always friendly service, huge amount of space, good range of beers, wine and spirits, and great food.
Called in while having a day trip to Newquay. Bit of a nostalgia thing, being as the wife and I used to drink there regularly when we were younger. Wife had the lamb burger which was lovely and moist and was a real treat. Only minor complaint was that there was no garnish on the plate so it seemed a bit empty, but still a great burger. I had the chicken and brie pie which was excellent. Maybe a bit too much pastry, but hey - that's what a pie is all about. Overall, a really nice lunch overlooking the harbour that took us back a bit too our youth. Would recommend.
Having been turned away from the Stables beach bar, our luck changed when we arrived at the Red Lion. Great choice of beer and food at sensible prices. Should have come straight here if we'd known. The Skinner's pale ale was excellent.
The Red Lion has to be one of our favourite pub experiences we've ever had!While on a short stay in Newquay we popped into the Red Lion to see if they were dog friendly (very much so yes) and ended up having an amazing dinner there. Staff are super friendly, as in next level friendly, loved it. Fantastic service too. Food was really, really great, hats off to their kitchen and chefs!We returned during a jam packed weekend lunch and it was just as great again.Can't wait to head back to Newquay and the Red Lion!
Reasonably priced Sunday "lunch" (ordered at 5:30pm). Good range of beers. Very good pub table service from a friendly team of staff.Pub is dog friendly and is used by locals and tourists.
