Great food good selection good price
What a change from when it used to be a drinking hangout decades ago. Visited today for Xmas dinner. Was certainly not my choice based on how it used to be, but in the times since my old visitations, it had been completely rebuilt and remodeled. Staff were all friendly (esp as they were working on Xmas day), food was really nice. Good portions, good quality, reasonable price. All in all recommended. Tables are fairly well I seperaterated from the main bar. Enjoyed the visit and food.

More like a modern cocktail bar, really - not a pub in the traditional sense. As such, Central Bar & Restaurant attracts a lot of young folk; it is less attractive to middle-aged patrons like myself. That said, there is nothing wrong with it - the full range of alcoholic drinks is on offer, and several national and international lagers. Just not too many real ales - and only "conventional" ones at that. So I settled for Tribute, which is widely available. It was all right, fresh.However, the outside seating area is rather attractive on a warm summer night, especially if you're among a group of people. Which I was not, so I did not linger for a long while. Certainly recommended for young people.
