We have been customers of Celtic for many years since the company first started. At Christmas I was delighted when my partner gave me a long wax cotton raincoat, as I had been looking for one. However, the first time I wore it out in reasonably heavy rain it started to leak badly after just 20 minutes. The leak was down the back of the left shoulder and arm, and covered an area of around 6 inches. I was wet through all my clothes. My partner contacted Celtic and the man who answered said that this should not have happened, and of course to bring it back for an exchange. We rang again a couple of days later, prior to visiting, and the lady who answered said yes, they had more in stock and to come over. On arrival, however, the assistant who was on duty said shed have to go upstairs to talk to her boss (the owner). She came back to say that they were not willing to exchange the coat as it was not faulty! I pointed out that it leaked and she said we are careful not to say in our advertising that the coat is waterproof. I pointed out that it is sold as a Raincoat, which would imply that it could be worn to protect from rain, but she argued that this was not the case! I said that I think this is false advertising. She kept insisting that they are careful not to say its waterproof, and she also said they were looking into reviewing the design of the item to try and make it more waterproof. When we pointed out that we had driven across the county, having been told already that it could be exchanged, she said that the person who had said this to us was no longer with the company. We were not offered our money back. However, when I said we were long time customers, she said they could offer 15% off our next purchase!!! WHAT next purchase?!! After this experience, we wont be shopping here again. Be warned folks, the quality of Celtic products is obviously not what it used to be, and in my opinion, raincoats that are totally useless in rain are a complete waste of money and not RAINcoats!
Fantastic shop as I love Celtic sheepskin. You can see anything in the brochure and try them on. Love it
Over the years I have had many pairs of boots in different colours and styles and simply couldn't get through a winter without them...they are so well made and warm and cosy ... I also have their slippers which keep my feet super warm and are so comfy ... excellent service ... thankyou
Not always a huge amount of stock to look at / try on...might be worth a call prior to making a trip.Very friendly helpful staff, that are knowledgeable although messages even written can be incorrectly interrupted at the factory.Gear is expensive, but lasts well especially the boots....my 1st pair were over 10 years old and worn all year round.
Didn't go much on it was a waste of time
