Absolutely overrated, like most people I went there because of the name and was thoroughly disappointed. Taste bland, mine was cold, portions ridiculously small! I got the mussels, half of which were empty. Also everything comes in cardboard takeaway boxes even if youre eating in. Such waste and a disgrace to the environment especially on the beautiful seafront to which I saw the same cardboard takeaway boxes had been littered on the shore and in the sea due to seagulls getting a hold of them. Shame on you Rick Stein!
Amazing location, brilliant view and so close to the beach, great place to warm up in the winter and chill out in the summer! Cod bites are amazing and the sauces for the chips and currys are worth a quid! Out of season you get an hour's free parking too...
Poor choice of food , fish and chip shop that has more curries on its menu than anything else , no chicken ? No nuggets no burgers the kind of food you expect from a chip shop. I'd expect to get curry from a Indian restaurant.Chips were nice but not a patch on a chip shop we visited in st Ives . Your paying for the name above the door and it shows
Good all round and great friendly service. Portion size was on par with a chippy just a little pricier, but well worth it. Fish tacos and noodles were excellent.
It's about fish & chips. Mr Stein has created a fish & chip shop on a large scale. Not as personal as perhaps a local but food is very good quality and staff efficient and friendly. It's a large place but advise in the busy season best to make sure you give yourself time. Worth a visit. Parking in pay car park, take change or you can pay on Mobile phone.
