I am using the library while on a long stay in Newquay, and what a pleasant place it is.As I am a member of my local London library, I have been able to temporarily swap my library card for a local one, which I think is a great service.Newquay library isn't very big, but for the size of the town it's appropriate.As a mainly fiction reader, it has plenty to choose from. There's are separate fiction, thriller and scifi/fantasy sections.The bookshelves are chest high, so the room has a pleasant open and well lit ambience.There's soft chairs available to sit on.They have a technology area with PC's to use, a children's book section and even had a sewing table, so I guess they do crafts here too.The library entrance is reached via a tarmac slope from the street below. The entrance door is automatic and the ground floor is fully accessible.I'm not sure if there is any step free access to the next floor where the Citizens Advice Bureau is located.Borrowing and returning books is done using a self service terminal near the entrance. There appears to be a separate terminal to use for children's books and overdue fines are lower for them.The few librarians I've spoken to have all been very friendly, pro active and helpful.
A great little library with a lovely children's section. The staff are always friendly and we also enjoy the free weekly sessions for toddlers & parents.
